1 Corinthians 1:24 Meaning But to Those Who Are Called

but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God;

What does 1 Corinthians 1:24 mean?

Christ names the power that shapes events and the wisdom that knows how, both awake inside human imagination. To the crowd that only saw a crucified man, this looked like weakness and sounded like foolishness.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Christ names the power that shapes events and the wisdom that knows how, both awake inside human imagination. To the crowd that only saw a crucified man, this looked like weakness and sounded like foolishness. To the ones who had felt it move in them, it was the strongest thing they owned. A word they had used for a person had become the name of a force.

The power and the wisdom arrive together. Power without wisdom flails; wisdom without power only comments. Joined, they are the awareness that can picture an end and quietly build the road to it. Christ was never a figure to admire from the pews. That same force stirs in the one reading these words, no farther off than his own attention.

  1. Take one thing you have been circling for weeks and spend five quiet minutes picturing it already done, clearly, down to who says what. Then do the one small step that version of you would do next.
  2. With someone today, stop giving commentary on their situation and instead picture them as already through it. Speak to that person, not to the one who is stuck.
  3. When something goes wrong at work, before you react, give yourself thirty seconds to see the end you actually want. Then act from there instead of from the alarm.

Where are you commenting on your life when you could be picturing it finished?
