1 John 2:27 Meaning As for You

As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.

What does 1 John 2:27 mean?

There is a knowing in you that does not come from information or from any teacher. It is the still awareness at your core, and when truth is spoken this knowing does not learn it so much as recognize it, the way you recognize your own face.

Ego v. Being

There is a knowing in you that does not come from information or from any teacher. It is the still awareness at your core, and when truth is spoken this knowing does not learn it so much as recognize it, the way you recognize your own face. Others can point you toward it, but the actual seeing always happens within you.

This is why no one can finally give you what you are looking for. The presence that abides in you already knows. When you grow quiet enough to feel it, you are no longer leaning on outside authority. You are letting the deepest part of yourself confirm what is true and what is merely noise.

A fine oil is secreted within the brain, and as it rises up the spine and bathes the higher centers it becomes the teacher no outside voice can be. This is the anointing that abides, the Christ oil pooling in the chamber of the head, and where it flows it opens direct knowing so instruction from without is no longer needed.

The oil itself teaches because it wakes the faculties that perceive truth firsthand. To abide in him is to stay under this inner anointing, letting the raised secretion keep the higher awareness lit from inside rather than seeking the light through another person.

Anointing, oil: the fine secretion of the brain, the Christ oil that rises up the spine and bathes the higher centers until it becomes the inner teacher

Live 1 John 2:27 today

  1. Before you look up what you should think about something, sit with it for a minute and see what you already sense. Then read, if you still want to.
  2. When a friend asks what they should do, resist handing them an answer. Ask what their gut already says, and let them hear themselves say it.
  3. In a meeting where confident voices are pulling everyone one way, check quietly whether something in you disagrees. That quiet signal is worth more attention than the volume in the room.

When I already know something inside, why do I keep waiting for someone else to confirm it?
