EGO & BEING
To dwell in him and he in you is not two beings sharing a house. It is the falling away of the boundary you imagined between yourself and the source of your life. When you live in alignment with what is, the sense of being a separate fragment dissolves, and what remains is one presence looking through you.
And you do not know this by believing it. You know it by the Spirit given to you, which is the living awareness in you right now, the felt sense of being that needs no proof. That quiet aliveness underneath your thoughts is the evidence. It is not something you were told. It is something you can feel.

SUFISM
Deeds are standing forms, their spirit is the sincerity hidden inside them: obedience needs an inner life Ibn Ata Allah put it that way, and it meets the person who does everything asked and still feels hollow. The missing part sits inside the act itself: the same prayer, the same kindness, carries weight when someone means it toward God. The question shifts from how much has been done to what was awake in the doing.
Iḥsān: doing everything beautifully, as though you could see God The Prophet described it as worshipping as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, knowing that He sees you. Rules kept at arm's length stay outside a person, changing behavior without touching anything underneath. Under a felt gaze the same acts become time spent with someone, and nearness starts showing up in ordinary hours.
I become the hearing he hears with and the sight he sees with: closeness runs through daily life The Prophet reported these as God's own words, about the servant who keeps drawing near through willing devotion. The picture is of closeness soaking into ordinary faculties, so that a person's looking and listening carry something of God in them. Someone who wonders whether they belong to God finds the answer in how they now see people and what they now want.
Nafkh al-rūḥ: the breathing in of the spirit The Quran describes God breathing into the human being out of His own spirit. That breath arrived as a gift and sits at the center of a person long before any effort begins. Anyone anxious about whether they measure up is hunting for proof of a bond that was placed in them first.
Dhawq: tasting, knowing something because it happened to you Al-Ghazali's example is the doctor who can define drunkenness exactly, while the drunk man knows it another way. Assurance about one's standing with God works like that. Reasoning about whether you belong settles nothing at three in the morning, and the quiet inner recognition carries a weight that argument cannot supply.
Ego v. Being lens
What in me is already still, even when my thoughts are not?
The self within you and the ground of all being are not two things. What you are looking for is the one looking.
Stop searching the world for the beloved. The one you long for is breathing closer to you than your own breath.
A fish spends its life asking where the ocean is. You cannot find what you have never once been outside of.
