ESOTERIC

Esoteric

Once the higher awareness lies dead in a person, the appetite moves at once to occupy the right hemisphere of the brain, the creative ground where Christ consciousness would have grown. The vineyard is not soil. It is the right side of the head, the field where the light ripens into wisdom, and the moment its keeper is gone the lower nature rises up and goes down to take it for its own.

This is the seizure that happens whenever the flesh outlives what should have ruled it. The killing comes first, then the possessing. Nothing tends the vine now but hunger, and hunger only harvests for itself. What was meant to bear the anointed fruit is worked instead by the part of a person that consumes and never gives back. The higher mind falls silent, and the animal walks straight into the garden of the brain to claim the ground.

Vineyard: the right hemisphere of the brain, the fertile field where the light ripens into wisdom and higher consciousness.

Live 1 Kings 21:16 today

  1. Watch what fills your attention in the first ten minutes after you wake up. Whatever you let in there is farming your mind all day, so choose it on purpose once.
  2. At dinner or on a call with someone you love, put the phone in another room. The attention you are not giving does not stay unused; something else is already taking it.
  3. When you are drained at the end of a hard day, the easy thing takes over without asking. Decide one small thing in advance that still belongs to you, a walk, a page, a real conversation, and give it that ground before the tiredness claims it.

What has quietly taken over ground in you that you stopped tending?

Buddhism · Dhammapada

When attention falls asleep, craving walks straight in and takes the house. The ground is never left empty; something is always ruling it.

Stoicism · Epictetus

He warned that the moment you stop guarding your own judgment, other people's wants and your own appetites move in and run your life for you.

Hinduism · Bhagavad Gita 2

The senses, left ungoverned, carry the mind off like wind carrying a boat on water. Nothing malicious happens; the steering is simply gone.
