1 Peter 1:16 · World English Bible
because it is written, “You shall be holy; for I am holy.”
To be holy has little to do with moral perfection or a code. The word itself is close to whole, and to be whole is to be undivided within, no longer split between the self you show and the self you hide, no longer at war with the present moment.
From the Ego v. Being reading below.
The same verse, read by one tradition.

EGO & BEING
To be holy has little to do with moral perfection or a code. The word itself is close to whole, and to be whole is to be undivided within, no longer split between the self you show and the self you hide, no longer at war with the present moment.
And the ground of it is already whole. I am holy. The presence at the source of everything is not fractured or searching, and neither, at your depth, are you. You become whole not by adding anything or fixing yourself, but by returning to the still awareness beneath your thoughts, where you were never broken.
Ego v. Being lens
Where in my life am I being two people, and what would it cost me to just be one?
That vast wholeness and the one looking for it are the same thing. You are not reaching for something foreign, only recognizing what you are.
You are already what you are searching for, like a wave hunting for the ocean. Nothing has to be added, only seen.
The uncarved block is complete before any shaping begins. Trying to improve it is what divides it.
