1 Samuel 16:14 Meaning Now Yahweh’s Spirit Departed From Saul

Now Yahweh’s Spirit departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Yahweh troubled him.

What does 1 Samuel 16:14 mean?

Saul is the mind that has not yet recognized its own son, the unawakened state that reigns before the creative power within is known. When the Spirit departs from such a mind, the awareness of being the source drains away.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Saul is the mind that has not yet recognized its own son, the unawakened state that reigns before the creative power within is known. When the Spirit departs from such a mind, the awareness of being the source drains away. What floods in to trouble it is doubt, the body of unbelief sent to test the man. That troubling spirit comes from the same Lord, because the doubt and the deliverance are two movements of one power working a person toward waking.

Nothing is lost in this departure. It clears the throne for David, the son in spirit who will be revealed and will call the man father. Saul is every person before that recognition, restless and afraid, ruled by appearances until the buried power rises and the fear that filled the empty place is answered.

  1. When the low mood arrives today, sit with it for one minute before reaching for your phone. Instead of asking what is wrong with you, ask what it is clearing space for.
  2. If someone close to you is edgy or down, resist fixing it. Stay in the room, keep your voice level, and let them be unsettled without making it a problem to solve.
  3. In the meeting or the email thread where the doubt hits hardest, say the uncertain thing out loud rather than performing confidence. The honesty puts you back on the throne faster than the act does.

What if the restlessness you have been trying to get rid of is the part of you that already knows something better is coming?

Bhagavad Gita 6

The mind is the friend of the one who has mastered it and the enemy of the one who has not. The same power that torments you when it rules you serves you the moment you recognize it as your own.

Zen · Hakuin

The great doubt that swallows a student whole is not a detour from awakening, it is the door. Trouble and breakthrough come from one source, and the restlessness is the awakening beginning to move.

Grief and anxiety sweep the house clear so a new guest can enter. What drains away was never the treasure, it was the furniture blocking the room.
