2 Chronicles 1:9 Meaning Now

Now, Yahweh God, let your promise to David my father be established; for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

What does 2 Chronicles 1:9 mean?

David here is the son of God brought forth from within a man, and the promise to David is the one pledge worth asking for, that this son awaken inside you. Everything else is beside the point; the single prayer is that God's promise of the son come true.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

David here is the son of God brought forth from within a man, and the promise to David is the one pledge worth asking for, that this son awaken inside you. Everything else is beside the point; the single prayer is that God's promise of the son come true.

The people numberless as the dust are the countless experiences a person has lived through as a man, the whole gathered store of a life, and out of that sum the son is born. So being made king over them is imagination coming to rule its own accumulated history rather than being ruled by it. The LORD God addressed is your own awareness of being, the power that keeps the promise. In plain words, the only thing worth praying for is that the greater self hidden inside you wakes up, and it is your own life, all of it, that gives it birth.

Live 2 Chronicles 1:9 today

  1. Alone today, run back over a hard stretch of your past and let yourself see it as material rather than damage. It all went into making the one who is here now.
  2. With someone close, ask what they are really after under the thing they say they want. Listen without fixing. Let the bigger want have air.
  3. When old history shows up today, a familiar irritation, the same argument, the same shame, do not argue with it. Let the calmer part of you lead the moment instead of the memory.

If I could ask for only one thing, would I ask for a circumstance or for the one who lives inside it to wake up?

Upanishads

Ask for the self and the rest follows. Ask for things and you get things, and remain the same person wanting.

Zen

Nothing you have been through is waste. The whole mess of a life becomes the ground the real seeing grows out of.
