CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Clinical Psychology

Something answers when a man finishes what he set out to build and offers it upward in the right spirit. The fire comes after the prayer, not before. A person labors, sacrifices, completes the work in good faith. Only then does meaning descend and fill the structure he made. The house stood empty until the thing arrived that made it worth building.

You cannot summon that fire on command. It answers something offered honestly. Do the work first. Pour out your best without knowing what will come, and the finished offering becomes a vessel something higher can inhabit. The glory fills the house because the house was finished and the heart was open.

Live 2 Chronicles 7:1 today

  1. Take the thing you have been half doing while waiting to feel inspired and finish it today, properly, to the last detail. Then stop and sit with it for a minute before moving on.
  2. Do something for someone in your house or your team all the way through, the dishes, the hard part of their task, with no mention of it afterward. Finished and unannounced is the whole point.
  3. When a deadline hits and you cannot tell whether any of it will matter, give it your honest best anyway. You do not get to arrange the outcome, only the quality of what you hand over.

What am I leaving unfinished because I want a guarantee before I pour myself into it?

Bhagavad Gita 2

Give yourself fully to the work and let go of what it will bring you. What comes back arrives on its own terms, never on demand.

Zen

Chop the wood, carry the water. The opening you are waiting for comes in the middle of the ordinary labor, not in place of it.

Finish the work and step back. The meaning settles once your hands come off it, not while you are still gripping for a result.
