EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

The single instruction is to stay put and wait. They were told not to scatter, not to rush off and make something happen, but to remain in one place until the promised thing arrived on its own.

Waiting is hard for the restless mind. It reads stillness as wasted time and wants to move, to act, to fill the gap. But some gifts cannot be seized; they can only be received by the one who has stopped chasing and grown quiet enough to feel their coming. When a person stays where they are and lets the striving fall away, the promise that was spoken finds them there, in the very stillness they were tempted to abandon.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Waiting for the promise of the Father is the state a person holds between assuming a thing and watching it appear. The promise is the birth of God within, and it comes in its own hour, never hurried by looking for signs on the outside. To stay in Jerusalem is to remain in the settled inner condition already entered, not wandering off to seek elsewhere what is already taking shape within.

While that promise ripens, the law is still at work: what a person controls inwardly, the attitudes he holds and feels as real, shapes the world he then meets. The command is not to strain or chase, but to keep the assumed state and let it mature. What is committed within unfolds in its appointed time, and the one who waits without abandoning the state receives it.

Live Acts 1:4 today

  1. When you are alone and the empty ten minutes show up, let them stay empty. Leave the phone face down and let the restlessness pass through you instead of reaching for something to fill it.
  2. With someone you love, let a silence in the conversation last longer than feels comfortable. Do not rescue it with a question or a joke. Often the real thing they wanted to say arrives in that gap.
  3. When something you want is late, a reply, a decision, a test result, stop sending the extra message. Let the waiting be the thing you are doing, not the thing keeping you from doing something.

What are you chasing that might already be on its way to you?

The old masters were patient as muddy water left alone. They did not stir it clear; they waited, and the settling happened by itself.

Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes and the grass grows by itself. The season is not hurried into arriving.
