Acts 10:36 Meaning The Word Which He Sent

The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all—

What does Acts 10:36 mean?

Peace is not a message to be agreed with by the mind. It is a state that already exists beneath the restless commentary of thought, waiting to be uncovered.

Ego v. Being

Peace is not a message to be agreed with by the mind. It is a state that already exists beneath the restless commentary of thought, waiting to be uncovered. The word spoken here does not add peace from outside; it points to the stillness that was always present, the deep calm that no circumstance can create or destroy.

And the one who embodies this is called Lord of all, because presence is not one thing among many. It is the ground in which all things arise and pass. When you stop identifying with the noise in your head and settle into that ground, the peace you sought turns out to have been your own nature all along, simply covered over by thinking.

Live Acts 10:36 today

  1. Sometime today, between two things, stop and let your attention drop below the chatter in your head. You are not making calm. You are finding what is already there under the noise.
  2. The next time a conversation gets loud or anxious, say less and stay steady. People often settle around whoever is not adding to the storm.
  3. When your phone lights up with something upsetting, wait three breaths before you react. The peace you want is not on the other side of answering it.

If calm is already in you, what have you been doing instead of letting it surface?

Tao Te Ching 16

Return to stillness and things fall into place. The calm underneath was never created, only forgotten.

What you are looking for is what is looking. The ground of everything is nearer than your own thoughts.
