Acts 26:13 · World English Bible
at noon, O king, I saw on the way a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who traveled with me.
It was the middle of the day, everything already lit, and still a greater light broke through. This is what happens when awareness itself opens.
From the Ego v. Being reading below.
The same verse, read by one tradition.

EGO & BEING
It was the middle of the day, everything already lit, and still a greater light broke through. This is what happens when awareness itself opens. The ordinary light by which the mind sees its plans and enemies is suddenly overwhelmed by a brightness that does not come from any object in the world. It comes from the depth of consciousness that has always been there, unnoticed beneath the glare of thought.
Such a moment stops a person on the road. The one who was traveling with such certainty is halted, and those around him feel it too. When that inner light shines, the self you took yourself to be cannot see by its old means anymore, and in that blindness a truer seeing begins.
Ego v. Being lens
What is already here, in plain sight, that you have been too busy to let in?
There is a light by which the sun itself is seen. It does not rise or set, and it is what is looking out of you now.
The moon was in the water all along. You only saw it when the surface went still.
There is a sun inside you that does not need the day. Most people live their whole lives with the shutters closed against it.
