Acts 5:32 Meaning We Are His Witnesses of These Things

We are his witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.

What does Acts 5:32 mean?

A witness is the part of a person that has actually seen the inner thing and can no longer doubt it, standing apart from the crowd of borrowed opinions. The breath of the sacred, the Holy Ghost, is the current of higher life that flows in only where the lower will has bent to the higher, and obedience here is that bending.

It is not reward for good conduct but the plain mechanics of consciousness: the fine energy rises when the coarse pull below submits, and it will not rise while the man still commands from appetite. The living proof comes to the one who has yielded, because yielding is the door.

Holy Ghost: the current of higher life, the fine breath that flows in through a surrendered will

Live Acts 5:32 today

  1. Today, find one small thing you are gripping, a plan, a schedule, a way the evening is supposed to go, and let it be different. See what comes into the space your grip was taking up.
  2. In the next disagreement, try genuinely wanting to be wrong for a minute. Not performing it, actually loosening your hold and letting the other person's version in.
  3. When something at work goes against what you wanted, do not argue with the fact for the next hour. Let the lower, loud part of you stop giving orders and see what clearer thing shows up once it is quiet.

What are you still commanding that might open if you stopped?
