Acts 9:17 Meaning Ananias Departed and Entered Into the House

Ananias departed and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

What does Acts 9:17 mean?

Sight returns and the higher breath fills the inner house at the moment the persecuting mind is met with laid hands and called brother. Saul opens as the restless, demanding ego that hunts down the light within, struck blind on the road by the very brilliance it opposed.

Sight returns and the higher breath fills the inner house at the moment the persecuting mind is met with laid hands and called brother. Saul opens as the restless, demanding ego that hunts down the light within, struck blind on the road by the very brilliance it opposed. The house entered is the body, and the hands placed upon the blinded man are the transfer of healing current from one awakened center to another. What was closed reopens, the eyes of understanding clear, and the whole vessel is charged with the sacred energy that had been held back. The encounter on the way was the flash of the inner Christ against the ego, and now that same power is grounded and settled through touch.

The hostile self does not stay blind: touched and named as kin, it recovers vision and is flooded with the living breath that turns a persecutor into a bearer of light.

The house: the body, the dwelling entered so the blinded inner man can be restored The hands: the channels of healing current passed from one awakened center to another The way: the inner road on which the ego meets the flash of the Christ light and is undone

Live Acts 9:17 today

  1. Think of the person you have quietly written off this week. Say their name to yourself and add the word brother or sister, or just friend, and feel how your chest reacts.
  2. Reach out to the one who was sharp with you. Not to settle it, not to explain yourself, just a short message that treats them as family: how are you doing, really.
  3. When someone snaps at you today, on a call, at a counter, in a group chat, answer the person instead of the tone. Their name, a normal voice, no armor. It often turns the whole thing in one sentence.

Who is waiting to be called family by you before they can see clearly again?

Buddhism · Metta teaching

Loving kindness is extended first to the easy ones, then deliberately to the difficult one, then to the enemy, until the circle has no outside. The hostile person is not excluded; they are the point of the practice.

Judaism · Talmud

The one who shames another in public is treated as if they had spilled blood, and the one who greets another warmly first is counted as giving a gift. A word of welcome has weight in the body.

Hinduism · Upanishads

The same self dwells in the one before you, however they are behaving. To see that is already the beginning of sight.
