Daniel 10:10 Meaning Behold

Behold, a hand touched me, which set me on my knees and on the palms of my hands.

What does Daniel 10:10 mean?

A power beyond the ordinary mind reaches into a person and lowers them from standing pride to the ground. The hand is the agency of the higher force acting on the flesh, and being set on the knees and palms is the body brought to its 4 points of contact with the earth, the posture in which the small self yields and the larger current can move through.

Esoteric

A power beyond the ordinary mind reaches into a person and lowers them from standing pride to the ground. The hand is the agency of the higher force acting on the flesh, and being set on the knees and palms is the body brought to its 4 points of contact with the earth, the posture in which the small self yields and the larger current can move through.

The one who was upright and self-possessed is bent down until knees and hands press the ground together. This is what happens when a greater awareness touches a person: the frame folds, the willful stance dissolves, and the body is arranged into a vessel low enough to receive.

Hand: the agency of the higher force, the touch of a power greater than the ordinary mind reaching into the body Knees and palms: the 4 points where the bent body meets the earth, the lowered posture in which the small self yields

Live Daniel 10:10 today

  1. Find a moment today to physically lower yourself, sit on the floor, crouch in the garden, kneel to tie a shoe, and stay there a few breaths longer than you need to. Let the body teach the rest of you what yielding feels like.
  2. With someone today, be the first to drop the stance. Say I was wrong, or I need help, without softening it with explanations.
  3. When something flattens you this week, a hard email, a diagnosis, a no you did not expect, do not rush to look upright again. Stay down with it long enough to feel what is holding you up from underneath.

Where am I still standing stiff in a place that is asking me to kneel?

The same truth in other traditions

Tao Te Ching 22

What bends is not broken, and what yields is the thing that endures. Lowering yourself is not defeat, it is how the current gets through.

Zen

An empty cup can be filled; a full one spills whatever you pour. What looks like loss of standing is just room being made.
