Daniel 11:32 Meaning He Will Corrupt Those Who Do Wickedly

He will corrupt those who do wickedly against the covenant by flatteries; but the people who know their God will be strong, and take action.

What does Daniel 11:32 mean?

Flattery works by editing what a person believes about themselves, which is why a settled identity cannot be bought. Flattery is cheaper than force because it works upstream.

Flattery works by editing what a person believes about themselves, which is why a settled identity cannot be bought.

Flattery is cheaper than force because it works upstream. Change what someone believes about who they are and the state changes with it, the state supplies the emotion, and the emotion signs whatever gets placed in front of it.

Knowing God answers in advance the question flattery has to reopen, so the offer finds nothing loose to work on. That settled answer is the strength itself, and action is what strength does when nothing inside is still negotiating. Anyone without it trades their conduct for approval in pieces small enough that no single one feels like the moment they were bought.

Live Daniel 11:32 today

  1. Before you open anything today, say plainly to yourself who you are and whose you are. Thirty seconds, in your own words, so the question is answered before anyone offers to answer it for you.
  2. When someone praises you to get something, thank them simply and then answer the actual request on its own merits. Warm face, unchanged standard.
  3. In the meeting where the compliment comes right before the ask, give yourself a beat before you agree. "Let me come back to you on that" keeps the flattery from signing anything in your name.

Where have I been trading small pieces of my conduct for approval, in bits too small to feel like a sale?

Favor and disgrace both set a person trembling, because both are handed to you by someone else. Whoever lives for the favor is already governed by the one who grants it.

As solid rock is unmoved by wind, the settled person is not shaken by praise or blame. There is nothing loose for either one to catch.
