Daniel 12:7 Meaning I Heard the Man Clothed in Linen

I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him who lives forever that it will be for a time, times, and a half; and when they have finished breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things will be finished.

What does Daniel 12:7 mean?

The man clothed in linen is the awakening awareness in a person. He stands over the waters, the unformed states out of which a life is drawn.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The man clothed in linen is the awakening awareness in a person. He stands over the waters, the unformed states out of which a life is drawn. Both hands raised to heaven mean that this whole awareness turns upward toward its own source. It swears by the one that lives forever, your own imagination, the only thing in you that never dies.

A time, times, and half a time is a fixed inner interval, not a span on any calendar. It runs from the first stirring of this awareness to its full unfolding. To scatter the power of the holy people is to break the last grip of the belief that anything outside you holds authority over your life. When that grip loosens, the drama ends. A person has found that the maker of his world was himself all along.

Live Daniel 12:7 today

  1. Spend a minute today with both hands open on your knees and your attention turned toward whatever in you is doing the imagining. Nothing else, no request.
  2. The next time someone's approval feels like it decides your day, let the feeling be there and act anyway from what you actually want. Their nod is not the authority it looks like.
  3. When a deadline or an unanswered message has you bracing, say plainly that this has a length, and that the one who set the terms of your inner world was you.

What have I been treating as the final word that was never the final word?

Tao Te Ching 25

There is something older than heaven and earth, with no name, that everything comes out of. Turning toward that is turning toward what you already are.

Upanishads

When you stop looking for a ruler outside yourself, the whole argument ends. There was never anyone else at the controls.

Buddhism

Be a lamp unto yourself. Take no other refuge, and look for the authority nowhere but where you stand.
