God in heaven is your own imagination, seated in the raised mind above the noise of the senses, and the secret it reveals is what your persistent inner activity is quietly building toward. MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

God in heaven is your own imagination, seated in the raised mind above the noise of the senses, and the secret it reveals is what your persistent inner activity is quietly building toward. The king is the ruling attention in you, and his forgotten dream is the assumption you carry without knowing you carry it. What shall come to pass is not fixed from outside; it is the finished shape of that dream, read back to the dreamer.

The visions of the head upon the bed are the images entertained in the drowsy state near sleep, where impressions sink in and take root. Whatever a person dwells on there stops being idle and starts becoming his coming days. The future is not lying in wait for you; it is assembled by the pictures you keep running behind your own eyes. Your dream is the maker of what you will meet.

PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis

There is a part of the mind that knows more than the waking self admits. It works while a person sleeps and speaks in images. A king cannot command it or understand it alone. The dream comes from somewhere he does not control, carrying knowledge his daytime thinking has pushed aside.

This is why a dream can feel like a message from outside. It rises from a deeper layer of the person, the part that watches the long shape of things while the busy mind looks only at today. It shows what is coming because it has already sensed where the present is heading.

Kashf: Unveiling Kashf names a covering that lifts. Some things cannot be reached by thinking harder about them, and a person eventually arrives at the end of what method can do. Everything they trust has been tried and nothing more comes. When the answer finally arrives, it arrives whole, and the one holding it can tell it was handed over rather than worked out.

With Him are the keys of the unseen, and no one knows them but He: what is coming is held in one hand A line of the Quran puts the future behind a door with a single key. People push at that door with skill, with clever reading, with worry that runs all night. Standing in front of it empty-handed feels like helplessness, and it is honest. Whatever comes through has been opened from the other side.

The good dream is a share of prophecy: sleep can carry more than the day's leftovers A saying of the Prophet gives the sound dream a small share in prophecy. Most dreams are the day churning itself over, and they fade before breakfast. A few arrive with a weight the sleeper did not put there, and those stay sharp for years. The tradition treats that weight as a signal rather than noise.

Taʿbīr: Crossing from the image to its meaning Taʿbīr means crossing over, from the picture to the thing it stands for. Dreams speak in pictures, and a picture is a set of clothes on a meaning. Someone who stops at the clothes ends up arguing about colors while the meaning stands right in front of them. The crossing takes a reader who knows which meanings wear which clothes, and that knowledge has to be given too.

Qalb: The heart as a mirror Al-Ghazali compares the heart to a mirror that shows whatever stands before it. Rust gathers on it from wanting, from noise, from being endlessly busy, until the surface shows nothing clearly. Clearing it involves subtraction: fewer wants, quieter nights, less arguing with how things are. A heart cleaned that far takes an impression plainly, the way still water shows the sky.

ʿUbūdiyya: Servanthood ʿUbūdiyya means standing as a servant who owns nothing. Anyone carrying knowledge that nobody around them has feels the pull to keep a little credit for it. Servanthood is the settled sense that the gift passed through and never belonged to the carrier. That steadies a person in front of powerful people, since they have nothing of their own to defend.

Live Daniel 2:28 today

  1. Watch what you let into your head in the last twenty minutes before sleep tonight. Trade the scroll for one scene of your life going the way you want, and fall asleep inside it.
  2. Ask someone close what they think you expect out of life, and listen without correcting them. They are often describing the assumption you did not know you were carrying.
  3. When something goes wrong and the mind starts running the same old film, the one where this always happens to you, name it as a film. Then deliberately run the other one for a minute, even if it feels like pretending.

What have you been quietly rehearsing lately, and do you want it to come true?

Dhammapada 1

What we become is made of what we have thought. The mind lays the track, and the life rolls along it.

Yoga Sutras

Patanjali teaches that the impressions we keep feeding settle deep in the mind and later ripen into the shape of our days. Nothing dwelt on stays harmless for long.

Stoicism · Epictetus

He said it is not events that decide a life but the judgments we keep repeating about them. Repeat one long enough and it stops being an opinion and becomes your world.
