Daniel 3:25 Meaning He Answered

He answered, “Look, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are unharmed. The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”

What does Daniel 3:25 mean?

3 powers of a person can pass through the furnace of trial unbound and unburned, and a 4th walks with them who is the divine center itself. The fire is the ordeal that consumes whatever is only outer, yet the true faculties move loose within it and take no harm.

3 powers of a person can pass through the furnace of trial unbound and unburned, and a 4th walks with them who is the divine center itself. The fire is the ordeal that consumes whatever is only outer, yet the true faculties move loose within it and take no harm. The number 4 completes the set: to the 3 is joined the ever-present higher self, the Son within.

The form of the fourth is like the Son of God because it is the deathless awareness at the core, which the flames cannot touch. Where the lower nature would burn, this center walks straight through, and its companions, joined to it, walk through as well.

Fire, furnace: the ordeal that burns away whatever in a person is only outer, leaving the true faculties untouched The fourth: the ever-present divine center within, the deathless awareness the flames cannot reach 4 men loose: the 3 faculties joined to the higher self, moving unbound through the trial as a complete set

PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis

Three men are thrown into the fire, and when the king looks, there are four, the last one shining with a presence that does not belong to ordinary men. The trial did not destroy them. It revealed a companion who was not there before.

Three is a familiar, unfinished number; four is the sign of something whole. When a person goes through real suffering and does not run from it, a fourth thing tends to appear, an inner center that was hidden until the heat brought it out. It does not save people from the fire. It joins them inside it, and that presence is what carries them through.

SUFISM

Sufism

Three men were bound and thrown in to be destroyed, and the king expected the fire to prove his power. Instead they walk free and unburned, shaming the heart that trusts in what it can threaten; the cure is to loosen fear's grip, since the flames meant to bind them are where they come loose.

And there is a fourth in the fire. The furnace meant to be pure absence becomes a place of presence too bright to name, God beside the faithful in the heat, so the worst the world can light becomes the room where He is nearest.

Live Daniel 3:25 today

  1. In the thick of a hard day, pause and look for the part of you that is watching all of it. It is quiet and uninjured and it has been there the whole time.
  2. Sit beside someone in their fear without reassuring them out of it. Your steadiness is a fourth presence in the room, and they will feel it more than any words.
  3. When fear spikes, before a hard conversation, a result, a scan, a bill, let your attention rest on what fear cannot touch. Then walk in anyway, with that as company.

What is walking with you in the hard place, that the hard place cannot reach?

Bhagavad Gita 6

The one who is settled in the self walks the same in gain and loss, heat and cold. Something in them is simply not available to the conditions.

Tao Te Ching 50

There is a place in a person where death finds no opening. Whoever stands there moves through danger without being reached by it.
