Daniel 5:25 · World English Bible
This is the writing that was inscribed: ‘MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.’
The measuring of an inner life comes as words traced on the wall of the skull, the appraisal a person cannot escape once the higher mind reckons what the lower self has spent. To be numbered is to have one's days of unconscious living counted out and closed; the count is finished and the account is due.

ESOTERIC
The measuring of an inner life comes as words traced on the wall of the skull, the appraisal a person cannot escape once the higher mind reckons what the lower self has spent. To be numbered is to have one's days of unconscious living counted out and closed; the count is finished and the account is due.
To be weighed is to be set on the balance where spirit is measured against flesh and found wanting, too heavy with matter and too light in the things of the higher life. What follows is division: the kingdom of the divided self broken apart and its powers scattered, the reign of the lower nature ended.
The wall: the inner surface of the skull where the higher mind writes its verdict on the life Mene: the numbering of a person's days of unconscious living, counted out and finished Tekel: the balance where spirit is weighed against flesh and the self is found too heavy with matter Upharsin: the breaking apart of the divided kingdom of the self and the scattering of its powers
Esoteric lens
If my days were counted out and set on the scale tonight, what would they say I actually loved?
We are careful with money and careless with the one thing that cannot be refilled, our days. Someone is keeping that count whether or not we do.
Days slip by while a person lives half awake, and the end arrives with the account unsettled. What you have been spending yourself on is what you will be found to be.
Know where you came from, where you are going, and before whom you will give an account. Hold those three and vanity loses its grip.
