Daniel 7:15 Meaning As for Me
As for me, Daniel, my spirit was grieved within my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

Daniel 7:15 · World English Bible
As for me, Daniel, my spirit was grieved within my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
There is a grief that settles in the body, a heaviness that gathers when the images in the head begin to frighten you. The visions of the head are one thing, and the one who feels troubled by them is another.

EGO & BEING
There is a grief that settles in the body, a heaviness that gathers when the images in the head begin to frighten you. The visions of the head are one thing, and the one who feels troubled by them is another. The mind churns out its beasts and its endings, and something in you contracts around them as though they were already happening.
Yet the very fact that you can feel yourself grieved shows you are not the storm moving through you. You are the awareness in which the visions rise and fall. When you stop feeding the pictures and rest as the one who simply notices them, the trouble loses its grip, because the fear lived only in the thoughts, never in the one who was watching them.

BUDDHISM
Nimitta: The sign a mind takes up Signs are the images awareness presents, made of the same stuff as any picture that rises behind closed eyes. Four beasts out of the sea press on Daniel with full force while carrying no flesh, the way a face seen in a fire has shape and no bones. Holding them as signs rather than as animals loose in the room is what lets him turn and ask their meaning instead of fleeing.
Nāmarūpa: Name and form Mind and body arrive as one bundle, which is why a grieved spirit sits inside a sheath of flesh. Daniel does not report a trouble floating somewhere apart from him; it is in the body too, the way bad news drops straight into the stomach. Heaviness in the spirit and heaviness in the frame are a single event told from two sides.
Domanassa: Grief on the mind's side Displeasure felt mentally, distinct from a bruise or a wound. His body stands unharmed before the thrones set and the books opened, and still something in him aches. Calling that ache by its name keeps it from being dismissed as weakness: it came up from causes, and it will go down with them.
Papañca: The mind spreading out One image is taken up and thinking runs it in every direction, meaning breeding meaning. Beasts, ten horns, a throne of flame, and each picture raises a hundred questions in the head until the churning wears more than the pictures did. A stone drops once and the ripples keep going, and it is the ripples that keep him up.
Saṃvega: The shock that moves a person Stirring dread at the way things stand, the kind that pushes forward. Daniel's grief becomes useful the moment it walks him over to one of those standing by to ask for the truth of the matter. Alarm turns into fuel, the way a jolt on a dark staircase makes the hand reach for the rail.
Ego v. Being lens
Who is the one in me watching all of this worry?
Two birds sit on one branch. One eats the fruit and tastes every bitterness, the other simply watches, and the watching one is untouched.
Feelings and thoughts arise and pass like weather. Watch them come and go without climbing inside, and they lose nothing of their vividness and all of their authority.
It is not events that disturb us but the pictures we attach to them. Pull the picture apart and the dread it carried has nowhere left to sit.
