Daniel 7:9 · World English Bible

Daniel 7:9 Meaning I Watched Until Thrones Were Placed

I watched until thrones were placed, and one who was ancient of days sat. His clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool. His throne was fiery flames, and its wheels burning fire.

What does Daniel 7:9 mean?

The Ancient of days is the awareness of being, the I AM, older than every thought and every figure that will ever pass through you. It is not an old man on a distant throne but the oldest thing in you, the sense that you exist, which fathered everything you have ever imagined.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The Ancient of days is the awareness of being, the I AM, older than every thought and every figure that will ever pass through you. It is not an old man on a distant throne but the oldest thing in you, the sense that you exist, which fathered everything you have ever imagined. The thrones cast down are the fixed positions from which you once ruled your life, the settled opinions about who you are and what you can be, dropping away so the original power can take the seat.

White garment and white hair carry no age here; they mean the wearer is spotless, unstained by anything that ever happened to him. Fire is the creative energy of imagination, and the throne and the turning wheels burn because this power is never still and never cools. What sits down when your old positions collapse is your own consciousness, awake at last, running the whole scene from within you.

Live Daniel 7:9 today

  1. Sometime today, put the phone face down and sit with the plain sense of being here, no name, no job title, no story. Just the fact that you exist.
  2. Let go of one fixed line you repeat about yourself, that you are bad with people, always late, not a numbers person. Go into your next conversation without it.
  3. When you get irritated at work and feel the old reaction loading up, pause one breath and ask who is actually watching this. Answer from there.

Who am I underneath everything I have decided about myself?

Upanishads

Before any thought, before any name you answer to, there is simply the fact that you are. That bare awareness is what everything else is built on.

Zen

Teachers keep asking students for their original face, the one they had before their parents were born. Not a memory, the thing in you that was never marked by anything that happened.

Tao Te Ching 16

Return to the root. Let the busy positions settle, and what was there first takes its place again.
