Daniel 8:12 Meaning The Army Was Given Over to It

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Clinical Psychology

Falsehood can win for a season, and pretending otherwise leaves a man defenseless when it does. Truth gets thrown down and trampled, and the force that tramples it flourishes for a time. Nothing is harder to accept about how corruption spreads. Lies build empires. They prosper openly while the honest look on in disbelief.

Yet the victory rests on transgression, and what stands on a lie is standing on nothing. The prospering is temporary, because reality is not mocked forever. A civilization that casts down the truth may thrive for a generation. All the while it hollows out the ground beneath its own feet. The collapse is already written into the success.

  1. Find the one small shortcut you have been taking, the rounded-up number or the half-true excuse, and straighten it out today. It will cost you something, which is the point.
  2. When someone tells you about getting away with something, do not applaud it. You do not have to lecture, just decline to be impressed.
  3. When you watch someone succeed today by cutting corners you would not cut, let the sting pass without changing your mind. Your standard is not a losing strategy, it is a longer one.

What are you building on that would not hold if the truth came out?

Marcus observed how many celebrated and powerful people had already been forgotten entirely, their triumphs included. Prospering and being right are two different things.
