Deuteronomy 11:24 Meaning Every Place on Which the Sole

Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even to the western sea shall be your border.

What does Deuteronomy 11:24 mean?

The foot is the symbol of your creative power, and to tread a place is to occupy a state in imagination until it feels solid underfoot. Whatever state a person walks into that way becomes his own, from the barren stretches to the far shore, because nothing he vividly enters and stands within stays outside his reach.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

The foot is the symbol of your creative power, and to tread a place is to occupy a state in imagination until it feels solid underfoot. Whatever state a person walks into that way becomes his own, from the barren stretches to the far shore, because nothing he vividly enters and stands within stays outside his reach.

The wilderness and the uttermost sea mark the whole range, the empty and the distant alike, all of it claimed the moment the feeling of being there becomes real. The world of mere reported fact is the flood you rise up out of by this act. So the possessing is done within before it shows without. In plain words, a scene held until it feels like where you actually are is a scene you will end up living in, and there is no ground closed to that kind of walking.

Live Deuteronomy 11:24 today

  1. Before you get out of bed, spend two minutes somewhere you want to be: a room, a street, a kitchen, until it feels like your actual address rather than a picture. Then get up as the person who lives there.
  2. When a friend tells you what they are hoping for, talk with them as though they are already there. Ask what the ordinary Tuesday looks like inside that life, and keep it concrete.
  3. Stuck in a line or waiting on hold, stop replaying the situation as reported to you. Walk, in your mind, through the version where it is already settled, slowly, until your shoulders drop.

Which place have I only looked at, and never stepped into?

Yoga Vasistha

The mind becomes whatever it dwells in steadily, and what it dwells in long enough it begins to live in. The world follows the place the mind has already moved into.

Buddhism · Dhammapada

We are made of our thoughts. What a person keeps turning over is the ground he ends up standing on.

Zen

The teaching is not understood from the edge of the room. You step in and sit down, and only then is it yours.
