Deuteronomy 31:16 Meaning Yahweh Said to Moses

Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers. This people will rise up and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land where they go to be among them, and will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them.

What does Deuteronomy 31:16 mean?

Moses is the soul shaped toward being born perfect, not yet delivered into that fullness, and his sleeping with his fathers is that stage passing so the next may come. The strange gods a person chases are every power he credits outside himself: luck, circumstance, another's approval, anything he treats as the source of his life.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Moses is the soul shaped toward being born perfect, not yet delivered into that fullness, and his sleeping with his fathers is that stage passing so the next may come. The strange gods a person chases are every power he credits outside himself: luck, circumstance, another's approval, anything he treats as the source of his life. To go after them is to forget that his own awareness of being, the I AM in him, is the only cause.

That forgetting is the one betrayal, and it is what breaks the covenant. Evil here is not misconduct. It is turning to an outer god instead of the power within. A person plays the harlot the instant he hands his fate to something he thinks stands over him. The one he abandons when he does this is himself.

Live Deuteronomy 31:16 today

  1. Write down the three things you have been treating as the source of your life right now: a decision, a person's yes, a number. Then sit for a minute as the person whose life does not hang on any of them.
  2. When you find yourself fishing for someone's approval in a conversation, let the fishing go mid-sentence and just be with them. Say the true thing instead of the one that earns something.
  3. Under pressure, when luck or timing or someone else seems to hold your fate, stop and come back to the plain sense that you are here and aware. Act from that, not from the hoping.

What have I been handing my life to, as if it were standing over me?
