Deuteronomy 34:5 Meaning So Moses the Servant of Yahweh Died

So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to Yahweh’s word.

What does Deuteronomy 34:5 mean?

Moses is not a man of history but a state of consciousness, the power in you that draws a desire up out of nothing and leads it toward realization. Moab is your own consciousness, the mother-father ground where states are born and where they end.

MANIFESTATION

Manifestation

Moses is not a man of history but a state of consciousness, the power in you that draws a desire up out of nothing and leads it toward realization. Moab is your own consciousness, the mother-father ground where states are born and where they end. Moses dying in Moab means this drawing-out state finishes its work and passes away, exactly as intended, once the desire it carried has been brought to the edge of fulfillment.

Every state serves and then must die. The leading-forth self passes away so that what it led to can be entered and lived from. This dying is not loss but resurrection; the old self-concept ends so a new one can rise in its place. A state fully assumed dissolves the state that reached toward it, and that passing, according to the word within you, is how one condition gives way to the next.

Live Deuteronomy 34:5 today

  1. Find one way you still introduce yourself that is no longer true, the old job, the old city, the old version of your health. Say the current one out loud to yourself once and let the old line go quiet.
  2. With one person today, drop the role you usually play with them, the fixer, the joker, the one who apologizes first. Just be ordinary with them for one conversation and see what fills the space.
  3. When the pressure comes and you reach for the old reaction, the defensive email, the sharp reply in the group chat, let that habit finish and stop there. You got here partly by being that person, and you do not need them for this part.

What have I outgrown that I am still carrying around out of habit?

Buddhism, the raft parable

The raft that carries you across the river is left at the far bank. Carrying it on your back up the road is not gratitude, it is confusion.

Bhagavad Gita 2

As a person sheds worn clothing and puts on new, so the self lays down one form and takes up another. Nothing real is lost in the changing.

Rumi, Masnavi

He says he died as mineral and rose a plant, died as plant and rose an animal, and never once was the dying a loss. Each death was the door into more.
