A life only expands to the size of what a person will let go of without a guarantee of return.

Release with no traceable path back is what breaks a person's scarcity wiring. Certainty that supply is fixed keeps the hands tight, tight hands breed fear, fear rehearses shortage, and a life organized around shortage produces surplus for no one.

The lag is what makes it work, because a man who needs his return by Friday releases nothing and stays the size he already is. Waiting for bread that may come back by a route he never planned rewires what he believes about supply, and the belief pays before the bread does: a man who has proved his supply is not fixed starts acting like it everywhere else. Hold the loaf and he eats today with his capacity frozen at the size of what he feared losing.

Live Ecclesiastes 11:1 today

  1. Give something away today with no way for it to come back to you, money, an introduction, an hour of work, and do not tell anyone you did it.
  2. Send the kind message or make the generous offer to someone who cannot return the favor. A long overdue thank you to a former teacher, a real reference for someone job hunting.
  3. When money is tight and your instinct is to close every hand, give one small thing anyway. Proving to yourself that your supply is not a fixed pile is worth more than the amount.

What am I holding onto because I cannot see how it would come back?

The sage gives and is not depleted. Holding tightly is what makes a person small.
