EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

There is a kind of seeing that does not use the eyes. When the mind grows quiet, an inner perception opens, and you begin to recognize what you truly are beneath your name and your story. This is not new information added to your knowledge. It is a light by which everything is suddenly seen clearly.

In that clarity you discover that the treasure you were reaching for is not far off in some future or reward. The riches and the glory are the fullness of Being that has always been alive within you. Awakening does not bring it from elsewhere. It only lets you notice the abundance that was here the whole time.

SUFISM

Sufism

There are eyes in a person that go cloudy with worry over money and standing, until the largest gift sits right there unseen. The cure is small and daily: a quiet moment where no one watches, turning toward the One who calls and asking to see.

When those inner eyes clear, the light they take in was never theirs to make. It shone the whole time, waiting for a heart clean enough to hold it, and the hope of that calling begins the instant the clouding lifts.

Live Ephesians 1:18 today

  1. Sit for three minutes and instead of watching your thoughts, feel the one who is watching. Nothing to find, just be the awareness that is already on.
  2. Look at someone you see every day, the barista, your kid, your coworker, as if for the first time. Drop the summary you carry of them and actually see them.
  3. In a stressful moment, ask yourself quietly, who is aware of this stress? The ground under you is steadier than the situation on top of it.

What have you been searching for that was never actually missing?

What you are looking for is what is looking. The seer behind your eyes was never one of the things it sees.

Zen

You are already home, searching the house for the key in your hand. Awakening adds nothing, it only ends the search.

You wandered the world asking for the treasure, and it was buried under the floor where you were standing.
