Ephesians 5:27 · World English Bible

Ephesians 5:27 Meaning That He Might Present the Assembly

that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without defect.

What does Ephesians 5:27 mean?

The glorious assembly presented without stain is the perfected consciousness offered back to its own source, cleansed of every mark of the lower nature. The church is not a building of stone but the gathered inner self, the called-out awareness within a person, and it is made radiant when every spot of material craving and every wrinkle of anxious, folded thought has been smoothed and washed away.

The higher self prepares its own body of light and lifts it up to itself whole.

What happens is the purification of the whole inner being until nothing of the flesh's blemish remains, and the awakened awareness stands clear and unbroken. The self is made ready not by adding anything but by removing every fold and stain, so that what returns to the source is seamless.

Church: the gathered inner self, the called-out awareness within a person, not a house of stone Spot: the mark of material craving left upon the awareness Wrinkle: the fold of anxious, gathered thought creasing the clear mind

Live Ephesians 5:27 today

  1. Pick one thing you keep adding to yourself to feel acceptable, one more scroll, one more snack, one more check of the numbers, and just skip it once today. See what is still there when you do not top yourself up.
  2. With one person, drop the small polish. No softening the story to look better, no editing out the part where you came off badly. Let the plain version stand.
  3. When something creases you up inside, a sharp email, a bill, someone's tone in a group chat, do not smooth it with a story. Put the phone face down, let your shoulders drop, and let the fold work itself out on its own.

What would be left of you today if you stopped adding and only let things go?

The way is not gained by piling things up. Day by day you drop what is unnecessary, and what remains is whole.

Rumi said the task is not to seek love but to clear away the walls you built against it. You are already the thing you are looking for, under the layers.
