Exodus 12:13 Meaning The Blood Shall Be to You

The blood shall be to you for a token on the houses where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

What does Exodus 12:13 mean?

The mark that spares a person is the life-force consciously placed at the threshold of the body. Blood is the vital spirit itself, and set upon the doorposts it signs the house so that the destroying force sweeping through the flesh passes it by.

The mark that spares a person is the life-force consciously placed at the threshold of the body. Blood is the vital spirit itself, and set upon the doorposts it signs the house so that the destroying force sweeping through the flesh passes it by. The self that has raised its inner life to a visible token is not touched by the death moving through the lower realm.

The houses are the bodies of those awake, and Egypt is the whole domain of matter under judgment. The plague is the dissolution that overtakes everything unmarked, everything still identified only with the perishing outer form. What reads as an ancient night of terror is the passing over of that in a person which has lifted its own life above the flesh, while all that clings to matter falls.

Blood: the vital spirit and life-force of a person, raised and placed as a conscious sign The houses: the bodies of those awake, marked and set apart from the surrounding death Egypt: the entire domain of matter and the flesh, now under judgment The plague: the dissolution that overtakes all that is still identified only with the perishing outer form

Live Exodus 12:13 today

  1. Sit for five minutes with the question of what in you is not your body, your job title, or your numbers. Do not answer it cleverly. Just let the question stay open.
  2. When someone's remark lands on a sore spot today, let yourself feel it and then say inwardly, that touched my pride, not my life. Then stay in the conversation warmly instead of defending.
  3. In the hour when the pressure peaks, the bad news, the deadline, the scan result, the money, place a hand flat on your chest and breathe twice. Find the part of you that is still steady underneath, and answer from there.

When the thing I am most afraid of losing is gone, what is left of me?

Bhagavad Gita 2

What lives in you was never born and does not die. Fear only looks real while you mistake yourself for the body that wears out.

Everything of the flesh is a river running away from you. Hold on to the one part of you that no loss can reach and the losses lose their teeth.
