Just delivered from the sea, the people sing not of what they did but of what carried them through. Strength that is truly yours does not come from the small self that strains and fears.

EGO & BEING
Just delivered from the sea, the people sing not of what they did but of what carried them through. Strength that is truly yours does not come from the small self that strains and fears. It rises from the deeper life within you, the awareness that was never in danger even as the waters closed and opened. When you touch that, gratitude becomes a song, because you sense you were saved by something you did not manufacture.
To prepare a habitation is to make room inside yourself for that presence to dwell. You do this by becoming still and present, so that the space where thought used to churn is now inhabited by the aliveness you had been overlooking.
Ego v. Being lens
What in your life were you given rather than earned?
The reed flute sings only because it has been hollowed out. The music is not the reed's own making, it is the breath moving through the emptiness.
A room is useful because of the empty space inside it. The walls matter, but it is the hollow that you live in.
Remember what you have is on loan, not manufactured by you. Gratitude is simply seeing clearly where your strength came from.
