Exodus 15:27 Meaning They Came to Elim

They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees. They encamped there by the waters.

What does Exodus 15:27 mean?

Elim is the rest that comes after the bitter crossing, the oasis where the inner life halts beside its own waters once the mind has passed through hardship. The 12 wells are the zodiacal fullness, the completed order of 12 signs, so a person arrives at a whole and settled inner arrangement where truth is drawn up from within like water from a spring.

To camp by the waters is to abide in that flowing consciousness rather than thirst in the dry places.

The number 70 is the fullness of forgiveness and divine intervention, and the palms are divine truth drawing on those same inner waters, standing green because they feed on what lies beneath them. A person who reaches this station rests in a mind made complete, watered from within and covered by a truth drawing its life from the depths already inside.

Elim: the resting oasis reached after the bitter crossing, the settled inner life beside its own waters 12 wells: the zodiacal fullness of 12 signs, the completed inner order from which truth is drawn like water Water: truth drawn up from within 70 palm trees: the number 70 as the fullness of forgiveness and divine intervention, and palms as divine truth feeding on the inner waters

  1. When you reach a calm stretch, actually rest in it instead of filling it with the next project. Sit in the good hour long enough to feel it.
  2. When you are with someone and nothing is wrong, resist the urge to pull out your phone. Let the easy quiet be enough for both of you.
  3. When pressure returns, draw on what is already in you, a steady breath, a line you trust, the memory of a settled day, rather than hunting outside for something to steady you.

When things are good, why do I so rarely let myself stay there?
