Exodus 20:8 Meaning Remember the Sabbath Day

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

What does Exodus 20:8 mean?

The seventh day is not a square on a calendar but the seventh center of the body, the pineal gland reached only after the light has climbed through the 6 centers below it along the spine. Those 6 centers are the 6 days of labor, the resistors on the wire where the energy meets its friction and pushes past.

The seventh day is not a square on a calendar but the seventh center of the body, the pineal gland reached only after the light has climbed through the 6 centers below it along the spine. Those 6 centers are the 6 days of labor, the resistors on the wire where the energy meets its friction and pushes past. Keeping the seventh holy means keeping this crown center clear so the light gathers there and God is seen face to face.

The number 7 is the number of completion, the whole ladder finished. The work of the week is the whole inner ascent, and the rest at its top is the still, lit place where the small self stops striving and the light does the seeing. That quiet at the crown of the head is what the ancient command hides under a day of the week.

Sabbath day: the pineal gland, the seventh center at the crown reached after the light passes the 6 below The 6 days: the 6 centers along the spine, each a resistor the rising energy must push through The number 7: completion, the whole inner climb finished and come to rest at the top of the head

Live Exodus 20:8 today

  1. Before the phone, after you wake, give yourself a few minutes where nothing is being pursued. No scroll, no plan for the day, no lists forming. Just sit at the edge of the bed and let the morning be there.
  2. Agree with someone in your house on a slice of the day with no screens, maybe the last twenty minutes of dinner. No fixing anything, no logistics, no catching up on the week. Just the two of you being in the same room without a task.
  3. In the middle of a heavy day, take the long way back from the bathroom or the parking lot. Walk slowly enough that nothing in you is reaching forward. Three minutes of not striving will do more for the next hour than three more minutes of pushing.

When was the last time you were awake and still, and not trying to get anywhere?

Taoism · Chuang Tzu

The mind only reflects clearly when it has stopped being stirred. Still water shows you the sky, moving water shows you nothing.

Hinduism · Patanjali's Yoga Sutras

The aim is to let the churning of the mind settle. What remains when the stirring stops is not blankness, it is seeing.

Zen

Sitting is not a tool for getting somewhere. You work hard for years and the point of it is to arrive at the one place where effort is finally set down.
