Exodus 21:2 · World English Bible
If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free without paying anything.
The serving power bound for a term is the working energy of a person set to labor through the ordinary rounds of the flesh before it is released. The number 6 is the measure of material work, the full stretch of laboring in the body's field, and the seventh is the number of completion and rest, the point where the toil ends and the bound force goes free without price.

The Hebrew, the one who crosses over, is the aspect of the self that belongs to the higher current even while it labors below. After the 6 rounds of flesh are finished, that energy is not sold on again but let go clear, restored to freedom at the seventh, when the work of the lower cycle has run its whole course and the laborer within is loosed.
