Behold, I send an angel before you, to keep you by the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

Exodus 23:20 · World English Bible
Behold, I send an angel before you, to keep you by the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.
A messenger sent ahead is the higher intelligence within a person moving out in front of the ordinary self, guarding the passage the consciousness must travel. It is not a winged being in the sky but the light of the deeper mind, going before the walking self to hold it on the narrow track and steer it past the ruin along the edges.

ESOTERIC
A messenger sent ahead is the higher intelligence within a person moving out in front of the ordinary self, guarding the passage the consciousness must travel. It is not a winged being in the sky but the light of the deeper mind, going before the walking self to hold it on the narrow track and steer it past the ruin along the edges.
The prepared place is the appointed state of awareness already waiting inside, the ground toward which the inner journey has always tended. The self does not build this ground; it is led into it. What guides and what receives are both interior, and the road between them runs through the body itself.
Angel: the higher messenger intelligence within, the light of the deeper mind sent ahead of the ordinary self The way: the inward path the consciousness must walk through the body toward its own awakening The place: the prepared state of higher awareness already waiting within, the ground the inner journey moves toward
Esoteric lens
Where today did I already know the way and keep asking for directions anyway?
There is a knowing in you that gets there before your plans do. Stop pushing and you find you are being carried on a road that was already laid.
The guide you are waiting for is already walking ahead of you inside your own chest. You were never traveling toward it, you were traveling with it.
The goal is not a far country but the ground you are standing on, unrecognized. You are led to a place you never actually left.
