Exodus 25:19 · World English Bible
Make one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other end. You shall make the cherubim on its two ends of one piece with the mercy seat.
The 2 figures raised at either end of the golden lid are the 2 halves of the cerebrum, formed of one piece so the right hemisphere conceals the unseen, mystical mind. Made from the single gold of the covering, they are not 2 separate powers but one god-consciousness shaped into a pair, guarding from both ends the small chamber where the higher presence is met.

ESOTERIC
The 2 figures raised at either end of the golden lid are the 2 halves of the cerebrum, formed of one piece so the right hemisphere conceals the unseen, mystical mind. Made from the single gold of the covering, they are not 2 separate powers but one god-consciousness shaped into a pair, guarding from both ends the small chamber where the higher presence is met.
The number 2 here holds the balance of the opposing sides of the brain, drawn from one substance so the guarding faculties and the place of reconciliation are the same gold. Between them the mercy seat is the inmost vault where a person forgives the self and stands face to face with what is highest.
Cherubim: the 2 hemispheres of the cerebrum, formed of one piece, the right side concealing the mystical mind Mercy seat: the inmost chamber of the head where a person meets the higher presence and forgives the self Gold: god-consciousness, the single divine substance the whole structure is made from The number 2: the balance of the 2 sides of the brain, drawn from one gold
Esoteric lens
Which two sides of me are actually one thing, and what happens when they stop fighting?
The two sides that seem to oppose each other are cut from one cloth, and one cannot exist without the other. Light and shadow are a single thing seen from two angles.
Not two: the formula teachers return to again and again. What looks like a pair of warring powers turns out to be one movement wearing two faces.
Severity and kindness are described as two pillars, and the way forward runs up the middle between them. Mercy is what stands in the place where they balance.
