The cloud is the covering that lets the higher presence draw near without overwhelming the one who receives it, the light softened so a person can stand within it. The name proclaimed is the essential nature of that presence sounded inwardly, the vibration by which the divine declares what it is to the awakened faculty able to hear it. To stand there together is the meeting of the human center with the descending spirit at the raised place of the mind.
The descent is not a figure arriving from the sky but the higher life coming down into a person and naming itself, felt as a nearness clothed in a veil and heard as the inward sounding of its own name.
The cloud: the veil through which spirit descends into consciousness, softening the light so the self can stand within its presence.
