Exodus 4:12 Meaning Now Therefore Go

Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.

What does Exodus 4:12 mean?

The reluctant power of expression is promised an indwelling presence that will speak through it, so that the halting outer voice becomes the channel of the divine word. The mouth is the gate of manifestation, the place where inner spirit passes into sound and takes form in the world, and the assurance is that this gate will not be left to its own weakness.

The higher self commits to occupy the very organ of speech and to supply the words, so the creative utterance no longer originates in the small self but flows through it.

When the doubting will finally consents to go forward, the faculty of speech is taken over from within, and what comes out is given rather than manufactured.

Live Exodus 4:12 today

  1. Before a conversation you are anxious about, stop rehearsing the script and just get quiet for a minute. The words that come in the moment are usually better than the ones you packed.
  2. When someone is hurting and you do not know what to say, stay and let something simple come out rather than looking up the right phrase. Presence does most of the talking.
  3. Put down the notes mid-presentation when you lose your place and speak from what you actually know. The room can feel the difference between recited and given.

What would you say if you stopped preparing and just showed up?

Zen

When the self stops managing the performance, the response arrives on its own and fits the moment. Preparation gives way to presence.
