Exodus 4:7 Meaning He Said

He said, “Put your hand inside your cloak again.” He put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh.

What does Exodus 4:7 mean?

The hand is the power to act, and the bosom is the heart-center where every deed is first conceived before it moves outward. Drawn out leprous, then drawn out whole, the same hand carries 2 conditions depending on what it is pressed against within.

The hand is the power to act, and the bosom is the heart-center where every deed is first conceived before it moves outward. Drawn out leprous, then drawn out whole, the same hand carries 2 conditions depending on what it is pressed against within. Disease and health are not 2 hands but one, and the difference lives in the chamber the hand enters. When action is returned to the deep center of feeling a second time, it comes back cleansed, restored to its natural state, no longer diseased by fear or doubt.

The cure is not applied from outside; it happens by re-entering the same inner place under a changed condition. What was corrupted at the heart is healed at the heart, and the flesh of the hand simply reports what the bosom has decided.

  1. Before sending the message you drafted while upset, put the phone down and check what you are feeling first. Send it from the second feeling, not the first.
  2. If you handled someone badly this week, go back to them, not with a defense, but having actually settled inside about it. The repair carries whatever state you bring to it.
  3. Under pressure, when your work starts coming out sharp and careless, stop and ask what you are afraid of right now. Fix that, and the work usually fixes itself.

What are you trying to fix on the outside that is really waiting in your heart?

Buddhism · Dhammapada

Everything we do is led by the heart. Act from a clear heart and the action comes out clean, act from a troubled one and the trouble travels with it.

Taoism

Do not scrub the surface of the water, settle it. Stillness at the center clears what no effort at the edges could.

Stoicism · Marcus Aurelius

The quality of your life follows the quality of your thoughts, so go back to the inner place and set it right there. The outer thing was never where the trouble lived.
