SELF-HELP
A man will sit in his own filth another night rather than admit he is not the one in charge.
Delay always shows up with a reason attached that sounds like strength, and the reason is never the cause. A ruler handed the end of a plague on request chose one more night inside it, which means the misery was costing him less than conceding would, and looking undefeated outranked being clean.
Granting him the timing he asked for is itself the lesson, because a man learns who Yahweh is by living inside the consequence of his own postponement. Set your standards by what you can tolerate and you get exactly as much relief as your tolerance allows, on a schedule your pride selects, and every delay raises the price of the next round.
Self-Help lens
What are you still sitting in because admitting it would cost you more than the mess does?
The rigid thing breaks, the yielding thing lives. Holding your position past the point of sense is not strength, it is brittleness wearing strength's clothes.
The first arrow is the pain itself, the second is the one you fire into yourself afterward. The frogs were the first, another night with them was his own.
While we put things off, life hurries past, and the hours we hand away are the only thing truly ours. Every postponed reckoning is paid for in time that does not come back.
