Ezekiel 1:14 Meaning The Living Creatures Ran and Returned

The living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

What does Ezekiel 1:14 mean?

The living creatures darting out and back like lightning are the descending craft and its beings seen in motion, a manifestation that appears and withdraws faster than the eye can hold. Their running and returning is the physical showing of something that comes down into view and lifts away again, its passage marked by the sudden flash.

The living creatures darting out and back like lightning are the descending craft and its beings seen in motion, a manifestation that appears and withdraws faster than the eye can hold. Their running and returning is the physical showing of something that comes down into view and lifts away again, its passage marked by the sudden flash. The lightning is the abruptness of that appearing, the way an enlightenment or a landing breaks in all at once and is gone.

What the old prophet describes is a real coming-down given in the only images he had, movement quick as a bolt. The creatures do not walk; they flash into sight and out of it, the mark of a presence entering this world from above.

Living creatures: the descended beings and their craft seen alive and moving Appearance: the physical showing-forth of what comes into view from above Lightning: the suddenness of the manifestation, the flash of an arrival breaking in all at once

Live Ezekiel 1:14 today

  1. Some moment today will open for about four seconds: light on a wall, a line in a song, a thought that lands. Let it be short. Do not reach for your phone to prove it happened.
  2. When someone says something real to you in the middle of an ordinary conversation, stay in it for one extra breath before you answer. Those openings close fast, and most of them close because we rush past them.
  3. In a hard meeting or a tense call, the clear thing you need to say usually arrives in a flash and then vanishes under second thoughts. Say it while it is still bright.

What showed up today that I almost missed because I was waiting for something bigger?
