EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

Again the wheels rise and rest in perfect time with the living creatures, never lagging, never leading. There is no negotiation between them, no effort of coordination. The form and the life within it move as one thing, because the spirit of the living creature is in them.

This is how a life feels when the separate self no longer forces it. You stop trying to push your circumstances into motion or hold them still by will. Presence acts, and the outer form follows without friction. When you let the aliveness within you be the mover, your standing and your rising happen of themselves, in seamless response to what the living spirit is doing.

Live Ezekiel 10:17 today

  1. Do one ordinary thing today, washing a dish, climbing stairs, at exactly the speed it wants to be done. No rushing it, no dragging it out.
  2. When plans with someone change on you, drop the version you had in mind and move with the new one. Most friction comes from holding a picture, not from the day itself.
  3. When a project stalls today, stop shoving and ask what the situation is actually ready for. Then do that one thing, and let the rest wait.

Where am I pushing something that would move on its own if I let go?

Tao Te Ching

Act without forcing, and nothing is left undone. Effortless action is not laziness, it is moving exactly with the grain of things.

Taoism · Zhuangzi

The swimmer in the waterfall does not fight the water. They go in where it goes in and come out where it comes out, and so the torrent carries them safely.

Bhagavad Gita

Do what is yours to do, then release your grip on the outcome. The doing is yours, the unfolding is not.
