Ezekiel 18:30 Meaning Therefore I Will Judge You

Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, everyone according to his ways,” says the Lord Yahweh. “Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity will not be your ruin.

What does Ezekiel 18:30 mean?

Judgment on your ways is the kindest arrangement available, because ways are the one thing you can change today. Being weighed by ways rather than by intentions is the most workable arrangement a person could be handed, because intention cannot be altered on command and conduct can.

Judgment on your ways is the kindest arrangement available, because ways are the one thing you can change today.

Being weighed by ways rather than by intentions is the most workable arrangement a person could be handed, because intention cannot be altered on command and conduct can. Yahweh puts the leverage where a hand can reach it.

Turning is a decision executed at the action link, and held long enough it runs backward up the chain: changed conduct retrains the state, and the state stops issuing the emotion that made the old conduct obvious. Iniquity ruins by continuing rather than by being remembered, which is why the stopping is the whole requirement. Every month spent considering it is a month the old ways go on collecting.

Live Ezekiel 18:30 today

  1. Take the one habit you have been meaning to drop and stop it for the next twelve hours, not forever. Twelve hours of actually different conduct teaches you more than another month of planning.
  2. If you snapped at someone yesterday, call or text them today and change the behavior rather than explaining your reasons. The explanation is cheap and they already know it.
  3. In the moment you feel the old reaction coming, in traffic, in a thread, in a meeting, do the opposite small thing with your body: close the laptop, put the phone face down, breathe out slowly, and let the feeling catch up later.

What am I still deciding about, while it quietly keeps collecting?
