Ezekiel 3:2 Meaning So I Opened My Mouth

So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat the scroll.

What does Ezekiel 3:2 mean?

To take the scroll into the mouth is to swallow inner knowledge until it becomes the flesh of the one who reads. Truth is not held at arm's length as information; it is eaten, digested, and made part of the body, so that what was written on a page now lives in the nerves and the blood.

To take the scroll into the mouth is to swallow inner knowledge until it becomes the flesh of the one who reads. Truth is not held at arm's length as information; it is eaten, digested, and made part of the body, so that what was written on a page now lives in the nerves and the blood. The opened mouth is the willingness of consciousness to receive what higher mind offers rather than argue with it. Nothing enters a person against their consent: the mouth opens first, and only then does the teaching pass in and take root. What a person truly understands is no longer outside them; it has become who they are.

The roll: the coded record of the body and its states, meant to be absorbed inwardly rather than studied from a distance. The mouth: the gate of consciousness through which teaching is taken in and made flesh.

Live Ezekiel 3:2 today

  1. Instead of saving another article or video today, take one idea you already have and actually do it once. Information you keep bookmarking is food you keep looking at.
  2. Tell one person something you have learned the hard way, in your own words, with none of the quotes. If you cannot say it plainly, it has not gone in yet.
  3. When advice arrives at a bad moment, from a boss, a parent, a friend who is a little too right, try swallowing it before you respond. You can spit it out later if it was wrong.

What have I been reading about for months but never once lived?
