Ezekiel 3:22 Meaning Yahweh’s Hand Was There on Me

Yahweh’s hand was there on me; and he said to me, “Arise, go out into the plain, and I will talk with you there.”

What does Ezekiel 3:22 mean?

Sometimes you are called out of the crowded places of the mind into an open plain, a stretch of emptiness where nothing distracts. The instruction is simple: arise and go there, into the spaciousness.

Ego v. Being

Sometimes you are called out of the crowded places of the mind into an open plain, a stretch of emptiness where nothing distracts. The instruction is simple: arise and go there, into the spaciousness. And in that clearing, and only there, comes the meeting.

The plain is not merely a field. It is the openness of pure awareness, the space that remains when the noise of thought falls away. You cannot be spoken to in the din of your own reactions. So you are led into stillness first. When you let yourself become that quiet, open space, the deeper intelligence can finally reach you, because there is at last room in you to receive it.

Live Ezekiel 3:22 today

  1. Take ten minutes today with no screen, no podcast, no company. Not to accomplish anything, just to be in the open space where you can finally hear yourself.
  2. Leave a real silence after someone finishes speaking before you answer. That small clearing is often where the honest thing arrives.
  3. When your head is loud and crowded with everything at once, step outside or to a window and look at something far away. Space outside has a way of making space inside.

Where in my day could I leave some room empty on purpose?

The same truth in other traditions

Tao Te Ching 11

The usefulness of a cup is the empty space inside it. Walls make a room, but the room is the emptiness they hold.

Zen

If your cup is full, nothing more can be poured in. Emptiness is not lack. It is room.

Hinduism · Upanishads

In the stillness beyond the chatter of the senses, the deepest truth is heard. The noise was never the obstacle to understanding, only the crowding.
