Ezekiel 32:30 Meaning There Are the Princes of the North

There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain. They are put to shame in the terror which they caused by their might. They lie uncircumcised with those who are slain by the sword, and bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.

What does Ezekiel 32:30 mean?

Princes who once ruled through fear now lie among the corpses they made. Their terror bought them nothing that lasts.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Clinical Psychology

Princes who once ruled through fear now lie among the corpses they made. Their terror bought them nothing that lasts. The power they trusted has curdled into shame, and the strength they wielded over others cannot lift them out of the grave. Might built on cruelty writes its own ending, and the ending is always the pit.

Every tyrant believes his force sets him above the common fate. It does not. The same death that takes the frightened takes the men who did the frightening, and it strips their glory as it goes. Fear commands the living, then abandons the dead. What outlasts a person is never the terror he inflicted, only what he built that deserved to stand.

Live Ezekiel 32:30 today

  1. Think of one small way you get people to do what you want through sharpness: the flat tone, the long silence, the look. Try the same request today without it, and see if the thing still gets done.
  2. With one person who has less say than you, a junior colleague, a kid, a server, a support rep on the phone, speak as if the two of you were exactly level, because in the end you are.
  3. When you feel the urge to win an argument by overpowering someone, in a meeting or a group chat, slow down and make your case on whether it is true, not on how hard you can push.

If the fear you cause in people disappeared tomorrow, what would still be standing that you built?

Whoever leans on armies and force is already losing. What is won by violence has to be held by violence, and that holding wears a man out until he breaks early.

Alexander the Great and his mule driver were both brought to the same dust. Rank was a costume, and death undressed them equally.

Buddhism · Dhammapada

He who harms others to secure his own position is building the house of his own ruin. The cruelty returns along the road it was sent out on.
