Ezekiel 37:6 Meaning I Will Lay Sinews on You

I will lay sinews on you, and will bring up flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you will live. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.” ’

What does Ezekiel 37:6 mean?

Many people move through their days as though assembled from dry parts, going through the motions without ever feeling the aliveness that is their birthright. To such a life something can be added that changes everything.

EGO & BEING

Ego v. Being

Many people move through their days as though assembled from dry parts, going through the motions without ever feeling the aliveness that is their birthright. To such a life something can be added that changes everything. Breath, the living presence, enters the body, and what was mechanical becomes awake.

To truly live is not merely to have a working body. It is to feel the animating aliveness within you, the sense of I Am that is present before any thought. And in feeling that aliveness directly, you come to know its source, not as an idea about God but as the living presence you are made of.

Live Ezekiel 37:6 today

  1. Standing in the grocery line, instead of reaching for your phone, feel the aliveness in your hands and feet for a few seconds. You are not killing time, you are back in your own life.
  2. At dinner with family, put your fork down for one bite and just taste the food and hear the voices around you. That small gap is where the evening becomes real.
  3. In a meeting where you feel yourself turning into a function, say nothing for a moment and feel your breath and your body in the chair. You can still do the work, only now someone is actually home.

Can I feel the difference between going through my day and being alive in it?

The same truth in other traditions

Upanishads

Before any name or thought, there is the simple sense of being that you cannot doubt. That quiet I Am is not something you have, it is what you are.

Kabir

I laugh when I hear that the fish in the water is thirsty. The life you are searching for is already breathing in you.

Zen

It is one thing to have a body that works, another to be awake in it. Wash the bowl and feel yourself washing it, and the ordinary turns alive.
