Ezekiel 44:28 · World English Bible
‘They shall have an inheritance. I am their inheritance; and you shall give them no possession in Israel. I am their possession.
You spend your life trying to own things, believing what you possess will finally tell you who you are. But every possession is a form, and forms come and go, leaving the one who clung to them emptier than before.

EGO & BEING
You spend your life trying to own things, believing what you possess will finally tell you who you are. But every possession is a form, and forms come and go, leaving the one who clung to them emptier than before.
There is an inheritance that cannot be lost, because it was never an object. It is the awareness of Being itself, the formless presence that is your deepest identity. When that becomes your true wealth, you no longer need to own anything outside yourself to feel whole, because your truest self is the one thing no one can ever take away.

MANIFESTATION
Everything a person could inherit narrows down to one thing, and this passage names it without apology. Awareness itself, the bare fact of being, is the whole estate. Land, holdings, the visible props of a settled life, are withheld from those who serve at the altar, and something far larger is given in their place. Their portion is I am, and nothing outside it.
What this means is quiet and enormous. A person owns nothing in the outer world that his own sense of being did not first grant him. When a man holds the awareness of being the thing he wants, every possession follows from it as fields follow from a deed. The estate is inward. Whoever knows that his awareness is his one possession has stopped begging the world for scraps and has taken up his inheritance.
Ego v. Being lens
If everything I own vanished tonight, what in me would still be mine?
The more you store up, the more you have to lose. Knowing when you have enough is the only wealth that does not leak away.
Clinging is where suffering starts, because everything you grip is already changing shape in your hand. Let go, and what is left is lighter and truer.
Never say you have lost something, say it has been given back. You were holding borrowed things all along, and what is genuinely yours no one can carry off.
