Ezekiel 47:1 Meaning He Brought Me Back to the Door

He brought me back to the door of the house; and behold, waters flowed out from under the threshold of the house eastward, for the front of the house faced toward the east. The waters came down from underneath, from the right side of the house, on the south of the altar.

PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis

The temple is the center of a people, the one place they call holy. Yet the water does not come from the altar or from anything human hands built. It rises on its own from under the threshold, from below the floor, out of a depth no one dug or owns.

The same holds inside a person. The life that renews us never comes from the deciding mind on the surface. It rises from underneath, from older ground we did not build. And it flows east, toward the sunrise, because whatever comes up from that depth is always moving us toward a fresh start.

Live Ezekiel 47:1 today

  1. Take your morning walk or commute without a podcast or music today. The thought you have been waiting for usually shows up in the quiet, not in the search bar.
  2. Ask someone you trust what they see in you that you cannot see. Then say thank you instead of defending yourself.
  3. When you are stuck on something at work and the harder you push the worse it gets, step away for ten minutes without your phone. The answer tends to arrive on its own once you stop forcing it.

When something good has come to me lately, did I actually make it happen, or did it rise up from somewhere I do not control?

Tao Te Ching 6

The source is called the valley spirit, the deep feminine gate. It pours out endlessly and is never used up, because nothing human made it.

Zhuangzi

The skilled swimmer in the whirlpool said he does nothing clever. He goes down with the water that pulls down and comes up with the water that rises, and lets the current do the rest.

Zen · Dogen

The moon does not get wet and the water is not broken. Insight is not something the mind produces. It appears, the way a reflection appears, when the surface goes still.
