Ezekiel 7:6 Meaning An End Has Come

An end has come. The end has come! It awakes against you. Behold, it comes.

What does Ezekiel 7:6 mean?

The end has come. Whatever you were certain would last forever has reached its limit, and the mind cries out because it mistook that passing form for life itself.

Ego v. Being

The end has come. Whatever you were certain would last forever has reached its limit, and the mind cries out because it mistook that passing form for life itself. The ending arrives fully awake, watching, present in a way the old shape never managed to be.

When a form falls away, what remains is the awareness that held it, the ground beneath every rise and collapse. A person who stops clutching the vanishing thing feels the dread begin to loosen. What looked like the end of everything turns out to be the moment the aliveness underneath, the part that was always watching, is met at last.

Live Ezekiel 7:6 today

  1. Think of something you are gripping, a role, a plan, a version of yourself, and let yourself admit it will not last. Feel what is still standing in you after that admission.
  2. When someone tells you about an ending in their life, a job, a relationship, a move, do not rush to fix it or find the silver lining. Sit with them in it. That is the real comfort.
  3. When something falls apart today, a deal collapses, a plan dissolves, name quietly what has actually ended and what has not. You are almost always still here, watching.

What in me has survived every ending so far?

Everything that comes together comes apart. The pain is not in the ending but in the hand that will not open.

Stoicism · Marcus Aurelius

All things are changing, always, and you are part of that change. Love what passes without demanding that it stay.

Tao Te Ching

Things rise and return. The one who knows the returning is not frightened by it, because they have found the quiet root underneath every form.
