Ezekiel 8:18 Meaning Therefore I Will Also Deal in Wrath

Therefore I will also deal in wrath. My eye won’t spare, neither will I have pity. Though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, yet I will not hear them.

What does Ezekiel 8:18 mean?

This is the fixed law of consciousness turning against a mind that has filled its own temple with lower images, for the earlier vision showed the inner house crowded with idols and turned toward the sun instead of the source. The fury is no mood in a distant deity but the inevitable recoil when a person profanes the center and worships the outer light of the senses.

The unhearing ear is the shutting off from the higher current once attention leaves the source within.

What crushes such a mind is nothing from outside; it is the consequence built into the misuse of its powers. When the temple is given to the senses, the line back to the source falls silent.

Eye: the inner seeing power of the source that no longer overlooks the profaned center Ears: the channel of the higher current that closes when a person turns wholly to the senses

  1. If you have been scrolling for an hour and feel flat and hollow, be honest that the flatness is the scrolling, not bad luck. Put the phone in another room and let yourself feel bored for ten minutes.
  2. When you feel like going quiet and cold on someone after they annoy you, say it out loud instead, kindly and plainly. Silence is not a punishment you can aim at another person without paying for it.
  3. In a tense meeting or a traffic jam, catch yourself before the fifth replay of the story in your head. Let one breath land before you answer or honk.

What have I been calling bad luck that is really just the thing I keep choosing?

Dhammapada

Nobody punishes you from outside. The deed you do returns to you the way your own shadow follows you home.

Stoicism · Epictetus

If you hand your mind over to things outside your control, you have already arranged your own unhappiness. Nothing further needs to be done to you.

Bhagavad Gita 2

Whoever lets the senses drag the mind around loses steadiness, and without steadiness there is no peace left to lose.
